My rage and frustration after reading and contemplating this are too much to bear for any kind of respectful or conciliatory words.
Democrats have failed us again - in particular, the DLC and Blue Dog variety. And, thanks to their rank cowardice, the killing will continue, abetted by Democrats yet again. All to kowtow to those within their ranks who are from "Republican-leaning districts." Fucking pathetic.
I have truly, officially, absolutely and unequivocally had it with Democrats. I will most likely not vote for that party again. One reason? Because as thoroughly evil as the Bushian regime is, and as morally/ethically/intellectually bankrupt as the Republican party in general is, Democrats aren't all that far behind, in terms of evil or the bankruptcies listed above. Harsh words? Beyond harsh, I think. But remember, I'm damned angry, I put my energy (and money) into a party that I believed in, and to reward my good faith they are shitting in my hair and down my shirt.
I have to say, I didn't expect that from a Dem lock on Congressional power. I readily admit that I was naive to degrees of quasi-insanity. I will never make that mistake again.
We have a single party in power, and though this is nothing new, these days it's a pure stink held with care right under our noses. That party is the Dem/Republican Corporate Moneybags Party. That's preciesly where we're at, with this murderously (yes, murderously: see Iraqis, dead before their time; American soldiers, possessors of throwaway lives) ineffective new Dem "resolution," ensuring only that the MIlitary Industrial Complex keeps the billions upon billions washing in as profit. Life and limb, though? Crying children and parents? What's right and wrong, as per ancient, unassailable tenets? Screw that noise, the Dems tell us, via their actions.
We're being asked to believe that the in-power Democratic party, in an America that hour-by-hour hates Bush and Republicans with ever-renewed gusto, is willing to prolong the Iraq war; introduce no real restraints on Bush pertaining to that war; and bend their fucking spines to please members from Republican-heavy districts. Huh. If I would've known it would go like this, that Dems would transmogrify into worms right before my eyes after gaining power, well, although I'd still want them in power, I have to say that I may not have voted for that party. I'm sorry, but this isn't a game, and my vote sure as fuck is no game-maneuver either. I was had. You were had. We were had. Because there's a boat that must never be rocked, and stenciled on that boat's side is "War Profits."
I'm sorry, but I'm tired. I'm tired of the bullshit.
'll be damned if I'll vote Dem again - unless, of course, something monumentally righteous goes down on behalf of that party. Iraq is fuck-simple at this point, in terms of railing against it as a willfully incompetent, profits-only, empire-addled, non-American-values war, and if Dems can't even manage that much, it's clear that the fix is in, people are getting rich while other people are dying, and that's that. Period.
P.S. I am mighty thankful for Waxman and Conyers, and the fact that in a Dem-controlled Congress, the fired-attorneys Stalinesque debacle gets a timely hearing. I am thankful for that. But God, on Iraq, Dems are selling us all down a river of blood, and I for one am really fucking sick of it. Honestly, it almost causes me to vomit.
